SKETCHES
In my spare time I enjoy sketching portraits, and in recent years I've developed a fascination with creating more macabre images of Great War veterans, each with their own unique character.
Most of the sketches in the "digital" gallery were completed using my Samsung Android tablet and the "Sketchbook" app. These sketches are often done quickly, within 30-120 minutes, typically while watching a film on the sofa so they have a loose, time-limited quality.
I began practicing digital sketching in 2008 using Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos tablet. Although I don't work with traditional pencils and pens as much anymore, I still have a library of sketches, ranging from quick desk drawings to life drawing classes, which I created up until 2018.
Some digital sketches include time-lapse videos, which can be found beneath the description after selecting an image. Alongside my primary educational studies I also earned a City & Guilds certification in life drawing and painting between 2009 and 2010.

4-5 Hours approx Photoshop & Wacom Digital Sketch using a new charcoal brush pack I acquired. I have been sketching veterans of the first world war as the portrait photography I've stumbled across online is so fascinating. A time lapse can be seen in the link below. It is a 3 hour sketch in 26 seconds.
