FILM & TV WORK
This page contains my film & television series contributions in the form of shot still frame galleries and then video edit galleries. These are categorised into the year the shows were theatrically released.
The video edits are the same format as my show reels with overlaid information text but are specifically for that show & its shots. Some video "montages" will contain an information page title before playing each shot/sequence with overlaid information such as tasks, software and specific details.
Further information on each project can be found by simply clicking a still from a gallery. I've included my Role, Task, Overview and then a quick link to the video edit for that show.

Role: Lighting TD Software: Houdini (Solaris/Karma) Tasks: I originally was tasked with just lighting the bottle for this shot but as the shot developed (anim/sims) I ended up creating new shaders for glass, label and fluid for the scene. The entire zoo fence I also modelled for the assets department which I ended up using for this shot. Role: Lighting TD Software: Houdini (Solaris/Karma) Task: Setting up and lighting the shot. This bespoke wide shot developed alot over time and around 65% of the shot is CG, including large areas of hills/ grass so liasing with the assets and compsiting departments was essentially to get the beauty render layers setup correctly with plausible environment shadows from entirely new formed hills applied to the original plate. Role: CG Generalist Tasks: Modelling, Look development & Animation. Software: Maya Work Overview: To complete this birdseye car shot I was tasked with shading all the vehicles (CAD models). Re-modelling the top half of the very bottom car (hearse which was a generic mercedes before alterations). I then animated the cars using multiple curves and offsets. Role: Lighting TD Tasks: I assembled, lit and rendered approximately 28 shots for the show. The work was lighting characters to a plate. Each shot had a 1 day/ 8 hour bid so the work pace was fast and shot management was key. S01 E04 Role: Environment TD Tasks: Scattering debris such as twigs, rocks and other around the environment, above and under snow. This was completed using their in house tool. The FX dept covered the environment alot more heavily with snow in the final so alot of the scattering became hidden! Role: Lighting/Look development TD Tasks: The above shot had to be completed very quickly and required look development of the ambulance & shot lighting. The textures were flat colours textures so I created several layered shaders to try and breakup the sci-fi ambulance side as much as possible in the lighting condition and time given. Role: CG Generalist Tasks: Dozens of shots from this sequence and others had pre-built and lit modular set peices which needed CG scene assembley, extending, render testing and final rendering. Role: CG Generalist Task: Tracking & Some Modelling/ Layout I was tasked with initially camera tracking the shot for the CG cables/ bridge top rubble to be implimented but later on was asked by the compositor for the far back walls to be modelled and ambient occlusion passes to be created for them to do a small DMP of that area with correct perspective. Role: CG Generalist Task: For this shot I adjusted the balcony foreground model, shaded & rendered seperately before working on the background environment. The environmnet required texturing of replica assets of on-set objects such as huts and similar buildings. I then adapted a huge bridge model, adding further rubble, cables, broken lamposts etc.. before texturing and shading. Role: CG Scan Processor Tasks: Cleaning up anomalies from on-set point cloud scans which are converted into 3d meshes. The process involves cutting up pointcloud data into usuable chunks and then importing smaller chunks into Cyclise to perform hole repairs, remove artifacts and make the mesh as useable and clean as possible for VFX studios to use in tracking/ other tasks.
