My name is Mark Woodcock and I am a VFX Artist (3D Generalist) with primary interests in lighting, texturing and look development using Substance Painter, Mari, Maya (Arnold) and Houdini (Mantra & Solaris/Karma).

My decade of industry experience covers a variety of disciplines whilst working on Film, TV & Commercials.
I have completed tasks varying from modelling, texturing, lighting and look development during my professional career, all of which can be seen in my reels at the bottom of the page.

Aside from my hands on industry work I have also taught and given talks at The National Film School for the “Digital Effects” masters course and the “Certificate in Filmmaking” course.

My 3d use started in 2007 whilst studying on a games development course at college. I then continued my education by enrolling onto the Visual Effects BA course at the University of Hertfordshire in 2010, of which I graduated with a 2:1 in 2013.

Software skills include:
Primary (Most often used): Maya (Arnold), Houdini (Mantra), Substance Painter, Photoshop and Nuke.
Secondary: Katana (PRman), Zbrush and Mari.

Renderers I have used across my career are:

Maya - Mental Ray, PRman, Vray, Redshift & Arnold

Houdini - Mantra, PRman, Arnold & Karma

Outside of my CG/VFX work I also enjoy other creative endeavours which include photography, drawing (examples are on my "sketches page") and blues rock guitar playing of which I've been doing for the past 17 years. In 2013 I won the "Jury Special Mention" award for my surreal VFX short film at the Hertfordshire Film Festival.
